Mr Mr Tan Min-Liang, Razer Asia-Pacific
In 2006, Singapore-born Min-Liang Tan assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of Razer, the world’s leading gaming peripherals brand. Min-Liang’s numerous contributions have helped direct Razer’s continual growth and establish its position as the leading innovator of cutting-edge gaming devices.
Today, Min-Liang oversees global operations from San Diego, California where Razer’s global headquarters are located. He often travels to and from Singapore to oversee operations of the company in the Asia-Pacific region.
Prior to taking on his duties as CEO of Razer, Min-Liang was a technology lawyer with one of the top intellectual property and technology law firms in Singapore. He has held a number of global positions including external general counsel (Asia-Pacific) to a global telecommunications company with over 20 billion Euros in annual revenue.
He has also had prior experience in the e-business sector as the chief executive officer of one of the leading electronic commerce firms in Asia-Pacific and has worked closely in the past with other leading peripheral manufacturers.
In his previous appointment as a technology lawyer, Min-Liang advised clients on contentious and non-contentious matters relating to technology law, including Internet, hardware and software issues, as well as media and telecommunications regulatory issues.
Min-Liang is often invited to be a speaker and panelist at international conferences and educational institutions. He has spoken at length on emerging technology law and the e-business sector. His work touches upon topics such as IT contract disputes, intellectual property rights in relation to technology, legal matters in Free & Open Source software and spam legislation. He has also authored a number of papers and was the consulting editor for the definitive guide of IT legal precedents in Singapore and Malaysia.
Min-Liang holds an LL.B from the National University of Singapore. He was also an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore prior to his appointment at Razer.
