Person Of The Year
Mr Stephen Lim, SQL View
Stephen Lim is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of SQL View Pte Ltd. A 25 year veteran in ICT industry, Stephen started his career with Hewlett-Packard (sales) Singapore as a Systems Engineer. In 1987, he left Hewlett-Packard to pursue his passion as an entrepreneur. Later on, Stephen founded SQL View in 1992 and today SQL View is recognised as the pioneer and leading provider of Knowledge and Record Management Solutions.

Hall Of Fame
Mr William Liu, Green Dot Capital
This year’s Hall of Fame is a pioneer and a veteran in the IT industry.
William Liu or Bill as he is more commonly known began his foray into the IT world upon graduation in 1970 and has 37 years of experience in the IT industry today. His career with International Computers Ltd (ICL) spanned 22 years, during which he rose through various positions to become Regional Vice President for Asia and concurrently the non-executive Chairman of the Singapore operations. He also served as General Manager of ICL Taiwan for a year in 1992. Bill is currently the Director of Green Dot Capital Pte Ltd. Prior to joining Green Dot Capital as President in 2001, Bill was with ABACUS International as its President and Chief Executive Officer. From 1993 to 2001, Bill led ABACUS through profitable growth and expansion of its operations from 7 to 20 countries in Asia Pacific, including a successful joint venture partnership with Sabre Inc, USA’s largest Computer Reservations and Global Distribution company.

Mr Tan Min-Liang, Razer Asia-Pacific
In 2006, Singapore-born Min-Liang Tan assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer of Razer, the world’s leading gaming peripherals brand. Min-Liang’s numerous contributions have helped direct Razer’s continual growth and establish its position as the leading innovator of cutting-edge gaming devices.

Mr Tan Kin Lian, formerly from NTUC Income
Tan Kin Lian started his involvement in information technology almost 40 years ago. He worked as a computer programmer and wrote accounting, inventory and other programs for a large trading house for 3 years. He learned how to use the programming language effectively to make the best use of the limited memory of 32,000 bytes and a disk capacity of 4 megabytes.

Mr Ong Kok Choong, Graduated from Nat’l University of S’pore
Kok Choong’s passion in IT was ignited during his formative years in Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary School where he represented the school in numerous Q-Basic and Robotics competitions. He was also a core member of the team that designed the first school website in 1996. His passion continued to grow during his college years and he became the computer club president in Yishun Junior College. In this leadership role, he was responsible for organising IT lessons and competitions for his peers.

Sangar, in the eyes of his many lecturers and fellow friends, has been an exemplary IT role model and inspiring youth. He has clearly demonstrated his passion and pursuit in IT as well as demonstrated leadership and also importantly, a heart for his friends and the community.
