About COMIT

COMIT is set to be the widely-recognised standard for IT outsourcing competence and professionalism. Distinguishing certified individuals as leaders in the field of outsourcing, it powerfully demonstrates that they possess the experience and knowledge required to design, implement, and manage outsourcing initiatives.

The COMIT designation will be recognised by IT outsourcing managers worldwide as a mark of quality.

Managed by Singapore Computer Society, the programme is supported by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore.

While knowledge is tested through examinations, competency can only be assessed by experience as illustrated in the service competency report as submitted in the application package. This programme places strong emphasis on practical experience.

Certification aims to assess a candidate’s competence in 12 areas:

	2.	Vendor Evaluation and Selection
	3.	Contract Formulation and Negotiation
	4.	Contract Initiation, Transition and Transformation Management
	5.	Relationship Management and Dispute Resolution
	6.	Service Quality Management and Performance Monitoring
	7.	Contract Migration and Handover Management
	8.	Cost Management
	9.	Risk Management
	10.	Human Resource Management
	11.	Communications Management
	12.	Interpersonal

Candidates will be assessed through submission of a Service Competency Report to demonstrate their professional competence in the practical development of the project undertaken.

Alternatively, candidates who have yet to acquire sufficient years of outsourcing management experience can be examined by sitting for the COMIT Examination conducted by the Institute of Systems Science, the SCS’ appointed examination agent.
