Special Examination Exemption for graduates of National
University of Singapore

NUS graduates who have obtained a pass in either outsourcing management at Honours (module code CS4255) or Masters (module code CS5259) levels can be exempted from COMIT Examination (Paper 1 & 2 ) conducted by the Institute of Systems Science. These NUS graduates can apply for COMIT (Associate) after they have accumulated at least ONE year of IT outsourcing experience and submit a report on their IT Outsourcing Experiences.

Institute of Systems Science

Certified Outsourcing Managers for IT (COMIT) who gain admission into NUS Master of Technology (MTech) programmers in Software Engineering of Knowledge Engineering, will be granted exemption from taking the Managing IT Outsourcing and Subcontracting basic elective course provided they achieved their COMIT certification through passing the examinations conducted by the Institute of System Science.

To apply for exemption, such candidates must present their COMIT examination results, showing a pass on each of the two COMIT papers, to the MTech Programme Director.

Certified Outsourcing Managers for IT who gain admission into NUS Master of Science, Management of Technology course will be considered for a wavier of the Systems Approach to Project Management module. However, this is on a case-by-case basis and subjected to the approval of the lecturer and programme manager. Candidates will have to write in to substantiate his request for the waiver with sufficient IT and IS project management experience, and upon approval of the waiver they are required to take another elective in place of the waived module.

All candidates must satisfy the formal admission requirements of NUS Master of Science programme as well as abide by the institute's procedures for module waivers.

Certified IT Project Managers who gain admission into NTU MBA programme's Management of Information Technology (MIT) course will be admitted to the "fast track". NTU has agreed to waive some of the formal IT course requirements to take account of these managers' background and experience.

These courses include Management Information Systems (core MBA subject), Contemporary Engineering of Enterprise Software (functional IT subject), Communications Technology and Network Management (functional IT subject) and Project Management (functional IT elective).

However, all candidates must satisfy the formal admission requirements of NTU's MBA programme as well as abide by the institute's procedures for course waivers and exemptions.
